February 10, 2012 in BBQ Rubs
Here is a classic bbq rub that I really enjoy:
- 1/3 cup paprika.
- 1/4 cup brown or white sugar. *NOTE – Although brown sugar has more flavor than white sugar, due to the molasses, it balls up and can sometimes make it difficult to obtain an even mixture.
- 3 tbs black pepper.
- 3 tbs salt.
- 1 tbs garlic salt or any specialty salt of your choice.
- 1 tbs cumin.
- 2 tsp celery seed.
- 2 tsp garlic powder.
- 2 tsp onion powder.
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper.
I apply a generous amount of the rub and make sure that the whole cut of meat is covered.
I have several other variations that I will be posting soon.
