BBQ Rub

Here is a classic bbq rub that I really enjoy:

  • 1/3 cup paprika.
  • 1/4 cup brown or white sugar. *NOTE – Although brown sugar has more flavor than white sugar, due to the molasses, it balls up and can sometimes make it difficult to obtain an even mixture.
  • 3 tbs black pepper.
  • 3 tbs salt.
  • 1 tbs garlic salt or any specialty salt of your choice.
  • 1 tbs cumin.
  • 2 tsp celery seed.
  • 2 tsp garlic powder.
  • 2 tsp onion powder.
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper.

I apply a generous amount of the rub and make sure that the whole cut of meat is covered.
